Type a title, description and URL. The preview updates as you type and estimates the pixel width Google has to work with. This is an approximation — Google may rewrite titles and generate snippets from the page.

  • Title width

  • Description width

Widths are a desktop (~600px title, ~920px description) and mobile (~680px title, ~990px description) approximation using Arial. Google may rewrite titles and choose a different snippet.

Limits

What this does not claim

Not a ranking score. Fitting the pixel budget does not mean the page will rank. It means more of the wording you chose can appear in the result.

Not Google’s renderer. Sitename, favicon, sitelinks and AI features change the layout. Treat the card as a working sketch, not a screenshot of the SERP.

No email required. The calculation runs in this page. If the snippet is the symptom of a wider problem, that is audit or consulting work.

Questions

Questions

Why can the live result look different from this preview?

Google measures titles and snippets in pixels, not characters, and the available width changes by device and result type. This tool approximates those widths. Google may also rewrite the title or pull a snippet from the page instead of the meta description.

Is a shorter title always better?

A title that fits is easier to read in the result. It is not a ranking score. If the title omits the query the page actually answers, a full title that truncates can still be the honest choice.

When the snippet is not the constraint

Rewritten titles and weak snippets often sit on a crawl, intent or architecture problem. That is what an audit is for.
